Thank You David!
03/16/2026

The City of Dayton would like to extend a sincere thank you to David H. Bowlin II for volunteering his time and effort to clean the Dayton Landing boat ramp. Because of David’s initiative, the ramp is safer and easier for community members to access the river for fishing, boating, and enjoying the outdoors.

David shared why the project was important to him:

"The reason I took the initiative to clean the Dayton boat ramp is because many people in Dayton rely on that access point to enjoy the river. It’s the closest and best opportunity for a lot of locals to go fishing. I see the boat ramp as a tool that brings happiness, excitement, and relaxation to the community. It’s hard for people to relax or enjoy the experience when the ramp is slippery and two-wheel-drive trucks or cars struggle to launch their boats. By cleaning it up and removing the mud, it makes the ramp safer and easier for everyone to use. It opens the door for more people and different types of vehicles to launch a boat without being intimidated by the conditions, helping more people get out on the water and enjoy fishing."

Volunteers like David make a real difference in our community, and are a constant reminder of how incredible this City is. Thank you for helping keep Dayton’s river access welcoming and accessible for everyone!
