How long have you lived in Dayton? 5 years
Where were you born? Santa Cruz California

Career Background I started in the trades as a carpenter and worked as a logger at the same time. 20 years in the timber industry working in various capacities related to sawmill production ranging from entry level duties to sawmill superintendent. Worked as a handyman concurrently. I then spent 25 years in the medical field starting as a CNA and finishing the last 21 years as an RN. I began in the hospital setting and ending as a 10 years hospice nurse and nurse manager.
What do you love most about Dayton? The small-town atmosphere and ambiance. I fell in love with Dayton at first sight. Our city center reminded me so strongly of my people in Illinois who lived in a town with almost the exact town square as we have.
Do you have a particular area or passion regarding your work on the City Council? I'm a bridge builder and relationship seeker. My hope is that as city councilor I can help to foster relationships with our growth partners to promote responsible expansion of Dayton focused on preserving our unique community. The citizens of Dayton need a voice and my belief is that the city council must speak to the culturally diverse needs of our citizens.
Who inspires you to be better? My wife Kathy. She is a constant source of inspiration and support and my best friend.
What was the last adventure you went on? We went to the Grand Canyon earlier this year. Standing next to such antiquity and grandeur is a strong reminder of my place in the world.
If you were given 10 million dollars to spend on Dayton, how would you spend it? 10 million dollars doesn’t buy what it used to, but I would spend it on acquiring more consistent law enforcement and building a common use area with exercise and swimming facilities.
