NOTICE OF VACANCIES IN THE OFFICE OF CITY COUNCILOR FOR THE CITY OF DAYTON Two vacancies currently exist in the Office of City Councilor for the City of Dayton following the resignation of Councilor Jim Maguire; Councilor Luke Wildhaber has ceased to maintain his primary residency within the city limits. The City Council declared the vacancies as of July 21, 2025. Pursuant to Section 33 of the Dayton City Charter, the City Council fills a vacancy by appointment. The City Council is seeking interested people to submit applications for appointment of the two positions of Dayton City Councilor for the current term of office. The term of office will be through December 31, 2026. To be considered for the position, applicants must be a qualified elector under state law, have primary residence within the city; not be a city employee; and have resided within the City for at least 1 year prior to July 14, 2025. Application forms are available on the City’s website, at Dayton City Hall between the hours of 8 am to noon and 1 pm to 5:30 pm Monday through Thursday, or by calling Rocio Vargas, City Recorder, at 503-864-2221x517. Completed applications are due at City Hall, 416 Ferry Street, Dayton, Friday, August 8, 2025, by noon.
